Novelty in our offer! Vaccinium corymbosum x vaccinium darrowii (12.5%) x Vaccinium angustifolium (3.15%)hybrid, inventor James F. Hancock, Michigan State University, USA. Shrub high 1.4 m, width 0.9 m. Upright habit. Blooms late – avoids damage from late spring ground frosts. Self-fertile cultivar, but cross-pollination is needed for maximum fruit development. Fruit length 1–1.2 cm, width 1.5–1.9 cm, average weight 1.7 g, violet blue colour, small and dry picking scar. The size of fruit is very regular, they are presented in loose clusters. Comparing to ‘Duke’, ‘Draper’ and ‘Bluecrop’, ‘Huron’ has the sweetest and the less tart fruits and the best flavor. Storage life as long as ‘Draper’. ‘Huron’ ripens few days after ‘Duke’ and just before ‘Draper’. Lower yields than ‘Draper’ and ‘Bluecrop’.
